TankPup Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 15, 2026

This policy explains what information TankPup collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. TankPup is operated by Forecourt Labs LLC, a New Hampshire limited liability company ("TankPup", "we", "us"), 20 Portsmouth Ave, Ste 1 #419, Stratham, NH 03885. Questions: support@tankpup.com.

TankPup is a service that connects to automatic tank gauge (ATG) consoles at fuel sites, records their readings, and alerts you about alarms. It is used through the TankPup apps for phones and computers and the website at www.tankpup.com.

1. Information we collect

Account information. When you create an account: your name, email address, company or station name, and a password. We store only a one-way hash of your password, never the password itself. If you turn on two-step sign-in, we store the key your authenticator app uses (encrypted) and one-way hashes of your recovery codes.

Invitations. When an organization's owner invites someone, we store the invitee's email address and the role offered, and send them the invitation email. An invitation expires after 7 days if not accepted.

ATG Console information. For each ATG Console you add: its name, internet address and port, console type, and the sign-in details the console needs (security code, or user name and password). Console sign-in details are stored encrypted and are never shown back to anyone, including you.

Readings from your consoles. Tank levels, volumes, temperatures, water levels, sensor and line status, pump status, alarms and warnings, and reports you request — collected from your consoles on a schedule and when you ask.

Device information. If you allow notifications, a push token for your phone or computer and its platform (iPhone, Android or desktop), so we can deliver alerts to it.

Activity records. We keep a log of actions taken through TankPup that change or query a console (for example running a line test, Console Mode sessions, reports, adding or editing a site), with the user, time and result. Our servers also keep technical logs of requests (including IP addresses) to operate and secure the service. Secret values such as password-reset links are removed from these logs.

Payment information. If you buy a paid plan, payment is handled by our payment processor, Stripe, Inc.. We receive your plan, billing status and the last digits and brand of your card; we never receive or store full card numbers.

We do not use advertising, ad tracking, or third-party analytics in the TankPup apps or website.

2. How we use information

  • To provide the service: connecting to your consoles, showing readings, history and reports, and sending the alerts you've chosen.
  • To run your account: signing in, confirming your email address, resetting your password, and enforcing your plan's limits.
  • To keep the service secure and reliable: preventing abuse, investigating problems, and keeping records of console actions.
  • To bill paid plans.
  • To contact you about your account or important changes to the service. We don't send marketing email unless you opt in.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.

3. Who we share it with

Only with service providers that help us run TankPup, under agreements that limit their use of it:

  • Amazon Web Services — hosting (servers in the United States) and sending account emails.
  • Expo, Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging) and Apple (Push Notification service) — delivering push notifications to your devices. A notification contains the site name and a short alarm description.
  • Stripe, Inc. — processing payments for paid plans.
  • Cloudflare — DNS for tankpup.com (it does not see your traffic).

Within an organization, members can see that organization's consoles, readings and alarms. TankPup staff can access accounts and consoles to provide support and operate the service.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of users or the public, or as part of a merger or sale of the business (in which case this policy continues to apply).

4. How long we keep it

  • Tank history, cleared alarms and notification records: 90 days, then deleted automatically.
  • Current readings and open alarms: while the console is in your account.
  • Account, console and organization information: until you delete it or your account.
  • Records of console actions: 2 years, then deleted automatically, for safety and accountability. When an organization is deleted, its records go with it; when a member of a team deletes their account, the team keeps the records of what they did, shown as "Deleted user" without their name or email.
  • Server request logs: rotated automatically, typically within a few weeks.
  • Backups: kept on our server for 14 days and in off-site storage (Amazon S3) for up to 90 days, after which deleted data is gone from backups too.

5. Your choices and rights

  • See and correct your account and console information in the app.
  • Turn off notifications for your account or for individual sites in the app's Settings.
  • Delete your account at any time from the app's Settings. This deletes your account; if you are the last member of your organization, its ATG Consoles and their history are deleted too. An organization's owner must first remove the other members (or ask support to hand the organization to one of them).
  • Ask us for a copy of your information, or to delete it, at support@tankpup.com.

Depending on where you live (for example California), you may have additional rights under local law; contact us to exercise them. We won't treat you differently for doing so.

6. Security

We protect your information with encrypted connections (HTTPS), encrypted storage of console sign-in details, hashed passwords, access controls, and limits on sign-in attempts. No system is perfectly secure, and we'll notify you as required by law if a breach affects your information.

7. Children

TankPup is a business service and is not directed to children under 16. We don't knowingly collect information from them.

8. Changes

We may update this policy. If the changes are significant, we'll notify you by email or in the app before they take effect. The effective date at the top shows when it last changed.
