Delete your TankPup account
You can delete your TankPup account at any time, in the app or by asking us.
In the app
- Open the TankPup app on your phone or computer and sign in.
- Go to Settings → Profile.
- Choose Delete account and enter your password to confirm.
If you own a team that still has other people in it, remove them first in Settings → Team, or ask us to hand the team to one of them.
Without the app
Email support@tankpup.com from the email address on your account and ask us to delete it. We'll confirm by email before deleting, and reply once it's done.
What is deleted
- Your account: your name, email address, password, two-step sign-in keys and push notification tokens.
- If you are the last member of your organization: the organization, its ATG Consoles, their sign-in details, readings, tank history, alarms, alerts and activity log.
- If your team carries on without you: the team keeps its activity log of what you did (such as line tests and reports), shown as "Deleted user" without your name or email.
- If your organization has a paid plan and you are its last member, the subscription is cancelled when the account is deleted, so there are no further charges.
What is kept, and for how long
- Records of payments are kept by our payment processor, Stripe, as the law requires for tax and accounting.
- Our backups keep a copy for up to 90 days (14 days on our server, up to 90 days in off-site storage), after which the deleted information is gone from backups too.
- Server request logs rotate automatically, typically within a few weeks.
Delete a site's data, and keep your account
You can delete one ATG Console (a site) and everything TankPup holds about it, without deleting your account.
- Open the TankPup app and sign in.
- Open the site, then choose Edit (top right).
- At the bottom, choose Delete site and confirm.
The organization's owner and its technicians can delete a site; view-only members can't, and neither can another organization the site is shared with. You can also email support@tankpup.com and ask us to delete a site, or other information about you, without closing your account.
Deleting a site removes its console's address and sign-in details, its readings and tank history, its alarms and alarm history, its alerts and their notifications, and its shares and access requests. The activity log keeps its record of actions taken on the site (such as line tests, reports and changes), with the site's name, for up to 2 years. Our backups keep a copy for up to 90 days, as above.
